Rohbox und Shimano Hebel
Regelmäßig werde ich gefragt, wie es um die Verwendbarkeit von hydraulischen Shimano Bremsschalthebeln mit der Rohbox jetzt steht und ob man schon bestellen kann. Dazu den Stand der Dinge:
Die ersten Serienteile sind in der Fertigung, nachdem die Tests sehr vielversprechend waren. Dabei handelt es sich um komplette Schaltmechaniken, die gegen die originalen von Shimano recht einfach auszutauschen sind – auch wieder rückwärts. Die Schaltmechaniken nenne ich ShimKit, wobei die Version A als erste kommen wird, sie ist in alle hydraulischen Bremsschalthebel der GRX Gruppen 810, 600 und 400 einbaubar. Das ShimKit A ist nadelgelagert und dadurch recht leichtängig.
Als nächste Hebel werde ich die der 105er Serie auf eine Verwendung hin überprüfen, eventuell dann mit einer anderen Version der Schaltmechanik. Die 105er Serie ist interessant, weil es eine spezielle Version für kleinere Hände gibt. Momentan warte ich da noch auf Schalthebel für die Vesuche.
Leider dauert die Fertigung der Serienteile länger als erwartet, aber es sollte eigentlich in zwei Wochen soweit sein. Dann kann ich auch genauer sagen, wieviel es kosten wird. Die ShimKits werden einzeln zu haben sein, so daß Sie eigene Schalter selbst umbauen können, ich werde aber auch fertige Schalter oder den Umbau Ihrer Schalter anbieten. Ich werde auch komplette Sets mit Bremssätteln anbieten können. Die GRX und 105 Bremsschalthebel sind von Shimano aus immer mit FlatMount Bremssätteln kombiniert, aber man kann sie problemlos auch mit Shimano Bremssätteln des IS2000/Postmount Standards versehen.
Sobald die Serienteile verfügbar sind, wird es hier stehen, bis dahin bitte noch ein wenig Geduld.

Often I get asked: What is the status of the combination of hydraulic Shimano Road Shifters with the Rohbox. Here the answer:
The first serial parts are in production, the prototype parts worked very well and were of light action. In the end complete shifter mechanisms are made which replace the original shifter mechanisms. The change is easy and it is easily possible to change back too. I call the new mechanisms ShimKit. ShimKit A is the first one and will work in all GRX series of shifters, 810, 600 and 400. The ShimKit A will be equipped with needle bearings and therefore be light action.
Next shifters in the row will be the 105 series, this will probably require a different ShimKit. The 105 series is interesting because a version for small hands is available. In the moment I have to wait for shifters to make the tests, though.
Unfortunately the production of the serial parts takes more time than expected, but they should be available in around two weeks. Then I will also have final prices. The ShimKits will be available for purchase so you can modify your Shimano shifters yourself, but I will also offer already modified shifters and will also offer to do the modification only. I will also have complets sets with brake calipers available. Shimano offers the GRX and 105 series as sets with FlatMount calipers only, but they can be used with IS2000/Postmount calipers as well.
As soon as the serial parts will be available it will be announced here. It will not take a long time anymore.
